Meet J’Nefer Higgins

J’Nefer Higgins, M.Ed., is a school psychologist and psychoeducational consultant specializing in culturally responsive parent coaching and child development.

I’m J’Nefer (pronounced “Jennifer”) Higgins, M.Ed., a school psychologist and psychoeducational consultant who believes every child deserves to be understood, supported, and seen. At Kusudi Village, I bring that belief to life through African-centered parent coaching, helping families navigate the joys and challenges of raising children with clarity, compassion, and cultural grounding.

My work sits at the intersection of child development, culture, and family wellness. I guide children, parents, and caregivers in understanding behavior, learning needs, identity development, and the everyday challenges that come with growing up. Whether through assessments, coaching sessions, or workshops, my goal is always the same: practical strategies and supportive guidance that empower families to thrive.

Having trained at Howard University (M.Ed.) and UMBC in Applied Developmental Psychology, and through years of hands-on experience in psychoeducational consulting, I know that children don’t need perfection—they need understanding, structure, cultural grounding, and adults willing to grow alongside them.

At Kusudi Village, my services are designed to honor that philosophy. From individualized coaching to family support and educational guidance, I help families build a foundation rooted in culture, care, and connection. While I specialize in supporting Black children, my work is welcoming to families of all backgrounds seeking thoughtful, practical, and culturally grounded guidance.
