What is PARENT COACHING?

Parent coaching is support for the parent first. It’s a guided, intentional process that helps you understand your child on a deeper level—how they think, how they learn, and what they need emotionally and developmentally. It gives you a space to unpack your stress, gain clarity, and shift the patterns that keep your home feeling chaotic or overwhelmed.

This isn’t about perfection; it’s about parenting with purpose instead of reacting from frustration or habit. Through coaching, you learn practical tools, healthier routines, and communication that actually works for your child. The goal is simple: stronger connection, calmer days, and a more confident, grounded version of you—so your child can thrive under the care of a parent who is fully present and leading with intention.

About COACH J’NEFER

J’Nefer (Jennifer) Higgins is a School Psychologist and Child Development Specialist with over 18 years of experience supporting the emotional and developmental needs of children and families. She is a NASP and ABPsi Certified school psychologist and a Jai Institute–trained Parent Coach, combining research-based tools with culturally grounded practices.

As a wife and mother to a 14-year-old and 12-year-old twins, J’Nefer combines deep professional training with the grounded perspective of a parent. She understands the real challenges Black parents face and offers guidance that is practical, compassionate, and culturally attuned.
